The 2008 Health Unit Mandatory Programs budget is $5,315,481. The Vector Borne Disease program budget (formerly known as West Nile Virus) is $128,529. Both are funded 75% by the Province and 25% by the local municipalities. The County of Perth, City of Stratford and Town of St. Marys contribute amounts based on their relative populations.

We also have provincially funded budgets for the Healthy Babies/Healthy Children program ($636.143), Nurse Practitioner program ($170,000), Infection Control ($107,880) the Heart Health program ($54,704) and Smoke Free Ontario programs ($386,000). A new budget is approved for 2008 in the amount of $51,700 to enable us to help ensure the quality of our Small Drinking Water systems. We are part way through a multi year program in coordination with the Perth County Task Force on Crystal Meth ($175,912). Lastly, the Government of Canada contributes $68,198 towards our Healthy Start for Old Order Amish program.
