Family Safety

There is no such thing as an ‘accident’ when referring to injuries. A fall, a crash or a burn does not happen by accident. Accidents are predictable and preventable. Childhood injuries are the leading cause of death and disability for Canadian children.
For young children, most of these injuries happen at home and can be prevented. Simple changes to their environment can help keep children safe. Parents and caregivers can understand and put to use the following home safety fact sheets and links to family safety messages and information.
