Health Unit Looking for Dog Involved in a Biting Incident in Stratford

Stratford– The Perth District Health Unit is looking for a dog involved in a biting incident in Stratford to complete an investigation. The incident took place on Friday May 24, 2019 at 10:30 am, at the Stratford Dog Park located on the corner of Packham Road and Dunn Road in Stratford.

 

The incident happened when the person bitten reached to open the gate and the dog lunged at them.

 

The dog is described as a small, “shepherd type” dog, possibly a mix, beige and white in colour. This dog was controlled by a young woman with blonde hair in a ponytail who was also controlling a larger white dog, possibly a Pyrenees.

 

The Health Unit is investigating this incident to check if the dog has up-to-date rabies shots. If the dog is not found, the person who was bitten may need to complete a series of rabies shots.

 

The Perth District Health Unit reminds people to always obtain the contact information of the owners of the animals involved in a biting incident.
